PolicyWiki is planning to implement a participation points system which tracks the accumulated contributions of users in a way that is visible to all. It is not in effect yet - feel free to edit this page.

The intent is to encourage people to build a track record, accumulate kudo's from others. and to discourage flaming, sock-puppets and other uncontrsuctive behaviors.

A note on Comments: comments are expresions of the "me" point of view and are less helpful in a wiki than page edits - contributions to what "we" think. Comments tend to be more ego-driven and about the person as much as the topic. Thus we want to encourage people to comment less and edit more.

Proposed Meritocratic Points System

The site moderators are not robots and reserve the right to award bonus points (and rarely demerits) for random acts of kindness or brilliance demonstrated on the policywiki.
